The bales are here! The current stack is over 800 straw bales -- the 500-pound variety -- and they are just waiting to be built into the 2008 Papa's Bale Maze! I'm anxious to get started.
We began hauling the bales last weekend from neighboring wheat fields; the balance of the straw is coming from 2,000 acres close to Wilton, ND. I expect to use nearly 1,000 beautiful golden bales to create this year's pumpkin patch.
Guests at Papa's will find a bigger and better Bale Maze, Slide Mountain, a Straw Pit, Bale Buddies, Bales-n-Rails fencing and many more creative ways that we build with bales. Re-use and recycle are a common theme and we are always looking for new uses for older things.
I might just have to go out and get started today!
