It's the day before we open for the 2008 season, and Papa's is like a bee hive!! Our 'to do' lists included things like finish the parking lot, stretch the rope bridge, secure the bales at the top of Slide Mountain, set up the train station for Poppy's Express, put out all of the photo boards and UNLOAD PUMPKINS!
We had two private parties -- one church group and a birthday party -- with us this evening. I guess you'd call it a 'soft opening.' These groups give us a chance to see what people think and determine what else we might add or do different.
Are you curious about a few of the new ideas you'll find at Papa's this year? Well, Papa'sville is bigger and better with five new, wooden play structures added. We have a great design for the Bale Maze and then, you'll also find a smaller, little people's version of the bale maze for the soon-to-be bale jumpers in the family. The Cub Scouts added some wonderful animals to the Nature Trail, and we've built a tunnel for Marv's Monster Wagon Rides.
OK. That's enough. You'll need to come and see the rest. Be sure to allow at least a couple of hours. The kids won't let you leave a minute sooner, and you'll want that much time to see everything, shoot dozens of pictures and pick out your perfect pumpkin.
See you soon,
Papa
